If you are experiencing issues with OneBusAway for iOS where the app claims that you are “out of the service area,” you may need to manually choose the correct region in which you are located.
tl;dr
- Tap on the Info tab
- Tap on Region
- Turn off Automatically Selection Region if it is turned on.
- Choose your correct region.
- Tap the back button and get back to using OneBusAway.
Steps #1 and #2
Tap on the “Info” tab on the right side of the tab bar at the bottom of the screen. You will see a screen similar to what is shown below appear.

Steps #3, #4, and #5
Disable the Automatically Select Region switch if it is enabled. You will then be free to select the correct region for your use of the app. Once you have selected the correct region, you can tap the back button to return to the main Info tab, and then continue on with using the app.
